Favourite Fashion Icons.

Mary-Kate Olsen;

 I have loved, admired and alway will. MK's fashion sense. She always ceases to amaze me every time and she looks flawless in anything she puts on. I love her carefree style and attitude, that's why she's my numero uno!

Alexa Chung;

British born model and half Chinese; she has the essence of such an exotic and captivating look.  I find her style uber quirky and very distinctive. I love the way she dresses up. She really, in my opinion, represents a balance that's missing. I love that her beauty style is miles away from that super-pristine, blow-out queen look of the Upper East Side (think Gossip Girl), but it's about 3,000 times more chic than the mish-mash explosion of color and retro cuts that have been synonymous with Williamsburg. Insane 80s revivals aside, there is beauty in balance, y'know?

Agyness Deyn;

What information can I give you about this waif of a style icon? British, supermodel, and only 21 years old, she is the next Brit model (after Lily Cole) to have caught my eye.

What I absolutely love about her is her almost radical sense of dressing. Instead of rocking the branded stuff, she goes for high ended street wear, very nice cuts. Basically her outfits just spell ATTITUDE.

Rachel Bilson;

YES -- Rachel Bilson. No lies, her looks are pretty darn great to me. They're chic, sophisticated, casual, and bold! That's why I love her looks.

Alright... so i'm getting tired and a lil lazy. I'll update more when I feel more motivated. Lol.

Flashbacking Fashion to Fall '09

Boreddddd ! For once I am blogging like CRAAAAZZYYYY. Lol. Anyways, I decided to look back on Fall 2009 collections from London Fashion Week. These are my favourite picks, and I just wanted to share them with you, that's all =)

Ann-Sofie Back

"Ann-Sofie Back burns in hell", the theme for her fall 09 show couldn't get any more literal. For the make-up at least. The pieces emits vampires dark aura, but still do quite appeals to me. What a drastic change from her usual girly, soft and sometimes sexy designs.

Really intricate in the details, from the pattern cuts to the torn oversized shirt. Such a genius to show the fairly wearable piece in such dramatic fashion. Styling and make-up are really all straight "A"s.

Danielle Scutt

To me, work from graduates of Central Saint Martins are usually pretty much recognizable. They have this abruptness present in their work. Danielle Scutt's definitely one of them. What I'm specifically talking about are those opening suit pieces with bright red, flames looking details jutting out from the neckline and hems. But as the show progress, She moved into something more futuristic and luxurious.

Erdem

It's undeniable to say that the prints from Erdem Moralioglu are pretty much his signature and instantly recognizable. So consistant for so many season, but still one of a hot favourite of mine.

Mark Fast

When his first collection was presented during fall 08, his knits and hole details left a deep impression for me. Though not really fall/winter looking, but it's impossible not to be amazed by his attention to details. One amazing Spring collection later, this Fall 09 collection provoke the same questions. To me, this is Mark Fast. Still loving it.

Nathan Jenden

After a disappointing spring 09 collection I found my love back on Nathan Jenden. Though it still doesn't wow me like how fall 08 did, but the paper-looking pieces are incredible!

Peter Pilotto

Another signature-based designer, Peter Pilotto, with another season of colourful, glittery and structural silhouettes.

Vivienne Tam

Not the first time for Hong Kong designer to take inspirations from her asian aesthetics. Not evem when she's presenting for the first time in London.

SJP has me CARRIED awaaaay.

First and foremost, i absolutely LOVE and ADMIRE: Sarah Jessica Parker. She has an amazing style and I have always loved watching Sex and the City TV episodes. Plus, she has those gorgeous shinning eyes, that make you go "whoa." Anywho's on May 2010, the second part of the movie of Sex and the City comes out, and i'm uber, super, excited, and cannot wait to watch it when it comes out! I loved first movie and watched over and over again! LOL. That's how I am when I really like a Movie. This is a little off, but I even watched AVATAR for a second time. Haha. See? Ya catch my drift?

Though this is a pretty short trailer of SATC, i'm sure there will be a longer one -- one that will at least be 3 - 4 minutes. :-)

Tearing up a Trend.

Rebel, rebel, your jeans are back. You know the ones -- the jeans you love so much you wear them till they fall apart. On the streets of London, New York, California, I notice offhand styles evoking seventies punk, when the goal was to look like you could only afford one pair: ripped, bleached and washed beyond all recognition.

Punk-influenced designers like Martin Mariegela, Cheap Monday and Anna-Sofie Back have put torn denim on the catwalk. The trend is no surprise - Punk's DIY ethos often makes a comeback in times of crisis, like in today's   crisis. Today as in the punk era, it's all about being creative with a minimum of resources.

C-C-Coco Chanel.

If I could honestly choose one person in the world to meet, it would be Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel. I have always admired and loved her collection and i'm glad that Karl Lagerfield does an impeccable job with it by keeping it very classsic and still very COCO CHANEL. 

Coco Chanel’s influence over 20th century fashion is undeniable. Her personal style is legendary and is a timeless source of inspiration. Although her look is distinctly feminine, her rebellious fashion designs played an important role in feminism with women’s liberation and the style of the flappers. Chanel was an independant woman who was well ahead of her time.
