A Midsummer Night's Dream.

To be honest with you guys, I was never fond of the fabric 'lace.' Never have ever bought anything that consisted or was entirely lace, except probably a month or two ago when I bought  a LBD from H&M, which was my first purchase ever.
As I was a viewing some of my favourite designers Spring and Fall 2010 collections, I came across Rodarte's Fall 2010 line which consisted of so much different varieties of lace being involved. And of course, he used it impeccably and extremely well. Everything, the lighting, the runway, the atmosphere. . . it really made me feel at ease and calm. And feeling was just very whimsical. You could really tell the devotion that he designed for his Fall '10 line.

After learning about lace in my textiles class and seeing all the different collections from designers that involved lace; it really made me have more appreciation for it. I see it differently now then when I did before.  (:
Here are a few photos from the Rodarte's Fall 2010.

I can't believe all the amazing things their doing with lace. The pictures above are gorgeous - I love all the levels of sheerness that the layering creates!

  3. Rodarte manages to make it look fierce YET delicate. The details are insane. I was obsessed with lace but now after seeing it everywhere the effect is waning on me a bit but these photos are gorgeous!

  4. Rodarte's collections always look so funky to me as a whole, but when I see the details I realize his pieces are actually really, really pretty.
